Sherbert Colored Retro Goodies! Just in time for Spring!

See! I told you all that every time I go out to hunt for more vintage merchandise I always seem to end up with groups of vintage items that all seem to go together! As I fill up a box, a theme emerges! There was the Inland Glass week, The Mid Century Modern studio pottery week, Tiki week. And this week was no different. This "haul" as I call it, all came from the same yardsale. And it all seems to go together like the decor of a retro 50s malt shop! Lime green, bright orange and pink along with diamond shapes & a candy striped soda bottle! Yum! And there's something for everyone...Pyrex, FireKing, GlassBake, Tupperware, Marcia of California art pottery, Taylor & Taylor, Sarah Coventry, WestClox, Italian Studio Pottery, a Swanky Swig, Retro creamers, a Porcelain egg cup, collectible retro soda bottles, and even a 1944 WW11 souvenir hand carved in Rome for a pair of lovers! I will be listing these wonderful treasures over the next week or so. But as always, just leave a comment if you see something you want to buy before it reaches the store.

Coming Soon!

This time around on my search for merch. I did pretty good. I got a few retro 50s kitsch things like a Libby Glass retro bar-ware print shot-glass, a Florida black plastic souvenir tray with oranges, palm trees, flamingos the whole 9 yards and the 60's Ges-line melmac ashtray you see in the "New Store Items"(is that what it's called?) section. And then I also picked up a good bit of Mid Century Modern studio pottery! I got another West Germany vase, this one is 216-20 with a mottled and lava effect. I got the T8 fish tray by Frankoma from their Polynesian line, the same kind they had at the Trade Winds Tiki Lounge but it doesn't say "Trade Winds" on it so it won't be super expensive but just as hip! I got a handmade piece of pottery from 1957 in the painter's palette shape! And I even got a Desimone 1960s pitcher with the "Picasso-esque" woman's face on the front. This one had a part of the lip of the pitcher that had been broken off and re-glued. Normally, I would just keep right on walking but for a 1960s Desimone I'll make an exception! I also got a retro modern piece of Pigeon Forge studio pottery. I really like it and I'm sure a lot of you will also. Since I'm not sure of the age though, I'll be listing it in the ebay store and not on etsy. I will be listing all of these items over the next week or two so check back!

Look familiar?

I've been using this logo for a while now. I've posted it so many places that I'm not even sure I remember them all. I've noticed some logos on etsy that I've seen on myspace and vice versa, or on flickr that I've seen in etsy forums and well you get the idea. So I'm wondering who out there has seen this image before? I've got this logo posted in ebay, myspace, flickr, photo-bucket, and on etsy(sort of, just the head as my avatar). I want to know if after all of my hard work on marketing my store, is my logo being seen or just all alone floating around cyberspace? Comment and let me know. Thanks

1st Blog

Welcome to the blog for my store Vaudeville Vintage. We have two online locations...There's Vaudeville Vintage on Etsy and then there's Vaudeville Vintage & Collectibles on eBay. We mostly carry Retro 50's & 60's vintage merchandise. I go to estate, yard, garage, courtyard, alley and warehouse sales, sales in bars and antique stores that have closed, flea-markets, antiques malls and thrift stores to try and find vintage and collectible items from the Atomic Age! And I still have a hard time getting enough merchandise! I know I'm at least a little too particular. But for one thing, I'm not going to sell you anything chipped. And another reason is, I LOVE the eras and periods of design that my store items are from: Atomic Age, Mid Century Modern, Tiki/Polynesian, Retro Lounge & Cocktail Culture, and sometimes a little MOD. So I try very hard to only carry items that represent those aesthetics. I usually go to buy merchandise every other Saturday. This is only the second blog entry and I'm still kind of setting up and re-arranging my blog page. So please be patient and check back. I'd love to hear from anyone who reads this, your comments and emails are welcome! And if you want me to keep an eye out for a certain kind of retro vintage item on my next outing, I'd be happy to go on a treasure hunt for you. I have a lot more in the works for this blog page, photos, blog entries, new merchandise, favorite items and I'm thinking of a way to promote other etsy vintage sellers. So leave a comment, drop a suggestion in the box, drop a line, drop a dime? Give a HOLLA!
